Love and Sympathy

I am really enjoying using some of my retired stamp sets that I plan to keep in my stash as they are great for making sympathy cards.  One of my favourites is Love & Sympathy.  For my card I paired it with some markers, dies, vellum, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape cardstock.

I used the Dark Highland Heather blend to colour 3 of the small pearl embellishments. I also used thin strips of cardstock where the vellum met the white cardstock. The ribbon is retired Old Olive 1/8" tafetta ribbon.
I coloured the flower and leaf image with my Stampin Write markers in Old Olive, Highland Heather and added some Gorgeous Grape to the flower centres before stamping onto Whisper White cardstock.

PPP Blog Hop - My Wonderful Family

Welcome to the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop! The beauty of the Paper Pumpkin kit is that you can follow the directions provided in the kit to make the projects as they were designed, or use the supplies as a starting point and let your creativity run wild.
On this hop we will be sharing lots of ideas with you on how to use the
April Paper Pumpkin kit: "My Wonderful Family".

It is a great time to connect with your family members. Send them some happy mail whether they live near or far!

These are the original cards:

The kit makes 8 cards with matching envelopes.
The Coordinating Colours are:  Crushed Curry, Early Espresso, Melon Mambo, Mint Macaron, PeraPizzazz,Shaded Spruce and Soft Sea Foam.

I made one change to the original project with the Dark leaf spray on the front. I just was not happy about covering up the amazing sentiment on the front of the card, so I cut a piece of vellum 3-5/8" x 4-5/8" and attached it on the left side of the sentiment.

Then I added my leaf spray, greeting, ribbon and embellishments as pictured in the directions.

These are my alternate projects:

To make the flower for the Mother's Day card I stamped the image on the DSP as shown and then fussy cut with my snips.

The supplies for my projects are listed below.

Thank you for joining us as we share with you the possiblities of Paper Pumpkin. Now hop over to Dana where you are sure to find a great Paper Pumpkin alternate project idea!

Ornate Flowers - DSP strips

This card was made using up some smaller strips of the new Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I chose 3 different patterns and cut them at 1" x 3-1/4".  Mounted them onto a piece of Early Espresso cardstock 3-1/2"square and then added them to my card.

My card base is Whisper White with an Early Espresso mat, another Whisper White mat and then a piece of the Soft Seafoam So Very Vellum from Sale-A-Bration plus the square above.  I stamped my greeting onto Whisper White and cut it out matting it onto a piece of  Early Espresso.

The 2 small pearls are coloured with the Stampin Blend marker and the middle embellishment is a retired Early Espresso dot!
