Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day is observed today on November 11th to recall the end of World War I (on that date in 1918) and honour the veterans of both World Wars and all other conflicts.

Every year on November 11, Canadians pause in a silent moment of remembrance for the men and women who have served, and continue to serve our country during times of war, conflict and peace.

Many people wear artificial poppies on their clothes in the weeks before Remembrance Day. Red poppies symbolize the memory of those who died in conflict situations.

LEST WE FORGET
