Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving weekend. For many, this long weekend really kicks off the autumn season. People across the country will spend it raking leaves, harvesting, shutting down the family cabin, and hopefully eating a delicious meal surrounded by friends and family.

Happy Thanksgiving from Canada.  Today is Thanksgiving Day (second Monday in October!)

I am happy to say that I am hosting the Thanksgiving meal and am fortunate to have my Mother here with me from Florida, as well as my cousin and her husband from Calgary.
My daughter, her husband and our 2 grandaughters will join us also.....truly thankful!

Thanksgiving Treats

Every year I make treats for my grandaughters classes.  This year was no exception and I have an added preschool class now for my 3 year old grandaughter.  The older one (6) is in French Immersion Grade 1 so her sentiments are in French.

For the Preschool Class

For the Grade 1 French Immersion Class
I never include anything with nuts due to school policies but these have 1 Ghiradelli chocolate, a Hershey kiss, and a Rice Krispie square.

10 for this class
27 for this class

I used various fall colours of cardstock and the corresponding ink colour for the pumpkins. The stems are Soft Suede cardstock, the leaves Old Olive stamped with Old Olive ink.  The sentiments are stamped in Soft Suede.

Fall Leaf Box

I made these for my Club members and thought I would share as the theme is now Fall projects.  The box is large enough to add something special for a friend or loved one.  I chose to add a fall scented hand sanitizer.

To add the detail to my leaves I spritzed my cardstock with water before I ran them through my die cutting machine.  This gives the tone-on-tone colour to the leaves and also a deeper imprint of the detail on the leaves.

A thank you card that has alot of fall images; leaves, pumpkins, fall colours.  This uses the Gather Together Suite from the Holiday Catalogue.
